Highlights of 7-Day Kilimanjaro Climb (Machame Route)
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha for an overnight stay and pre-climb briefing.
Start the Machame Route, trekking from Machame Gate through dense rainforest to Machame Camp, encountering diverse plant life.
Ascend to Shira Camp, where the landscape changes to moorland, offering incredible views of the mountain’s glaciers.
Trek to Lava Tower for acclimatization before descending to Barranco Camp. This day emphasizes the “climb high, sleep low” method.
Climb the Barranco Wall and trek across the alpine desert to Karanga Camp, where you can enjoy views of the southern ice fields.
Reach Barafu Camp, your staging ground for the summit attempt. Rest early in preparation for the final ascent.
Begin your ascent at midnight to reach Uhuru Peak by sunrise. After celebrating at the summit, descend to Mweka Camp for the night.
Continue descending through the rainforest to Mweka Gate, where you’ll be transported back to Arusha for a celebratory rest.
